Earlier today, the network announced that it would not be ordering further episodes from the second season of the struggling sci-fi series, but insisted that the show's fate would be decided next year.
However, subsequent reports suggest that Whedon has been told that the 13th instalment, scheduled to air Friday, January 22, will now serve as the series finale.
As previously confirmed, Dollhouse will return Friday, December 4, with the remaining episodes airing back-to-back.
