"Oh God..." - After hosting panels for Beauty and the Beast and Elementary, Comic-Con's Ballroom 20 is now the home of Dexter - we'll be bringing you live updates as Michael C Hall, Jennifer Carpenter and special guest star Yvonne Strahovski, plus executive producers John Goldwyn, Sara Colleton and Scott Buck, discuss season seven...
19:05And that's that for the Dexter panel - a good time was had by all. Stay tuned to Digital Spy over the coming days for more live blogs, videos and more direct from the 2012 Comic-Con in San Diego!
19:02Michael is asked to name his favourite season. "The one we're doing right now, 'cos that's all there is, baby!" he cries.
18:59Yvonne talks her Dexter casting - it took her "about a second" to decide to join the ranks, praising the show's "amazing" writing.
18:56Michael talks fan reaction on the street: "Some people are like, 'I have some people I want you to kill', and I have to tell them that's not going to happen."
18:54Michael also admits to initially being "adverse" to the Dexter concept before learning the error of his ways!
18:54Responding to another fan question, Jennifer admits that she didn't think Dexter would last. "I didn't think a network could put a serial killer on TV and people would watch it."
18:50A fan named Erica wants the stars to name their favourite guest stars. Michael picks "the artist formerly known as Mos Def" - he's a big fan of his music - and also John Lithgow.
18:47How does Yvonne find working on Dexter different to starring on Chuck? "The energy on the sets is very different. It's different, but it's really great," she says.
18:46Next fan question - which kill has Michael found the most satisfying? "The biggest prize would have to be Trinity," he suggests. "But they're like my children, really - I love them all equally!"
18:43Jennifer explains that Deb will feel "lost" in the new episodes - "There's no compass. The tables feel like they've turned..." she says.
18:40Michael describes the fan reaction to Dexter over the years as "overwhelming" - "It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing to play this part, for sure," he adds.
18:38Last year's theme was faith and religion - this year's is love and the consequences thereof. Interesting...
18:38Jennifer talks more about Deb's role in season seven: "At any second - if I live - I could tell someone to put cuffs on Dexter and I think he knows that!"
18:36A fan asks Michael how he is similar to Dexter - "Repression... we look a lot alike," he jokes. "I don't really pick up after myself as well as he does..."
18:33A fan query now - how would Michael feel about a Dexter musical? "I've always thought it would be fun in the final season to do twelve different series finales," he quips. "Maybe a musical could be one of those!"
18:30Yvonne describes joining Dexter as a guest star as "very exciting", saying: "Everyone has been very lovely and welcoming."
18:29Executive producer Scott Buck insists that Deb's discovery has not painted the writers into a corner - they now have new avenues to explore, he says...
18:28Jennifer Carpenter explains Deb's conflicted feelings for Dexter, saying: "Him stabbing someone trumps those [romantic] thoughts."
18:26Yvonne talks about her character Hanna: "She's a woman of mystery with a dark past - what a surprise!" She helps Dexter to resolve "an old murder mystery", apparently.
18:25So that was pretty *bloody* intense - no pun intended. And here come the cast and crew!
18:20We begin the Dexter panel with an exclusive preview of the first two minutes of season seven. Exciting!
