Lohan's 'Ugly Betty' appearance reduced

Tensions on the set of Ugly Betty have led to Lindsay Lohan being cut from two of the six episodes she was scheduled to appear in, reports say.

According to the New York Post, the problems centred on the relationship between Lohan and lead star America Ferrera.

A source claimed: "It was a mess. Lindsay would show up every day with an entourage of people. She smoked 24/7, and after she left, they had to repaint her dressing room it was such a mess."

Lohan also launched a "power play" and would not go on set until Ferrera was there, it is claimed.

However, a friend of Lohan alleged: "America was mean to Lindsay. Producers give her too much power. Lindsay didn't do the last two episodes because America didn't like her and got her kicked off."

Lohan's spokesperson confirmed that the Mean Girls star will only appear in four episodes, but added that she had "a lovely time" on set. The 22-year-old had earlier written on her MySpace blog that appearing on the show was "a delight".

A representative for Ferrera said the actress was grateful to have had Lohan on the show.
