Show bosses have been looking for someone to play a "vacuous Trust Fund brat" in the programme, which stars America Ferrera and Vanessa Williams.
Producers spotted Geldof playing an exaggerated version of herself on Nylon TV - the internet channel of the fashion magazine - and apparently want her for the role.
"She was sending herself up a treat. It was clear that she is aware of how the public might perceive her and how she really is," a source told the Daily Star.
"Peaches has a precocious wit. It's important to get guests on the show who are in on the joke and the Brits seem to do this the best."
