The actor, who appeared on the fourth season of Lost as Minkowski, is to portray the role of Betty's landlord Mr Z, Buddy TV reports.
Betty producers sent out a casting notice that sought a "New York actor who could go head-to-head with America Ferrera".
It is currently unknown when the 45-year-old will make his first appearance on the programme, which has seen a steady decline in ratings since its return on Friday, October 9.
