'Amazing Race' contestant to launch TV channel

A former contestant of CBS' The Amazing Race, Blake Mycoskie, is teaming up with Larry Namer, the co-founder of E! Entertainment Television, to launch an all-reality TV channel, Reality Central.
The station, which will feature both American and international shows, will also include its own original production following the launch of the station from initial inception to, pardoning the pun, reality.
In an age whereby niche rerun channels - such as ESPN Classic - are available on basic cable packages, the market certainly seems open for a channel dedicated to reruns of reality television. The business plan for Reality Central indicates the channel is seeking a launch to 3m cable households, with ratings around the 200,000 homes mark - according to the Associated Press. Also according to the AP, the channel projects to have carriage in 30m cable homes by the end of its second year of operations.
