After last night's intense (and slightly lengthy) performances by 12 of America's Got Talent's Top 48 hopefuls, it's time for some results. Only four from the group will make it through, but which four will it be? Join Digital Spy live from 9/8c to find out!
22:00Next Tuesday (July 10), 12 more of the Top 48 will be taking the stage to hopefully make it through to the semi-finals. We'll see what happens then. Until next week!
21:59Incidentally, Sharon says she would have voted for Edon, too. Maybe I'm missing something.
21:59Howie names Edon "the chosen" and picks him to go through to the next round. Listen - he's a good singer and a talented kid, sure, but can he do a whole show in Vegas? No. Howard wants to pick Todd Oliver as he thinks the act is original but ends up giving it to Edon, meaning Sharon's vote doesn't even matter. Edon is through to the next round. WHAT? This is ridiculous. BOO, bring the dogs back!
21:53Finally, it's down to Edon, Todd Oliver (C'MON!) and the Distinguished Men of Brass. This one is down to the judges, but before they can choose, Nick takes our brass playing friends out of the running. Both Edon and Todd get their say on why they should stay, but it's up to the judges to decide. They'd better pick the damn dogs!
21:41He's singing 'This Is Love' with Eva Simons - I've never heard of her but I'm kind of shocked he didn't pick Cheryl Cole (I'm sorry, just Cheryl) to sing on this since he can't seem to get enough of her. I don't like this song all this much and sorta feel like he needs to get back with the Black Eyed Peas to save his dignity and my nerves.
21:40Our lovely sponsor, Snapple, has sent the Top 48 off to sight-see in NYC. They hit the tour buses, go for pizza (they didn't even go to the best place) and basically celebrate being in the Big Apple. Let me tell ya, it's more glamorous than it seems. In any case, will.i.am is here to sing his new single. No comment.
21:33Howie can't decide who should go through - though he thinks he knows who will. So do I. And I'm right - David Garibaldi and His CMYKs are through to the semi-finals! Well deserved, too.
21:30Moving right along - David Garibaldi and His CMYKs, the American BMX Stunt Team and that weird 'Singin' in the Rain' magician guy and his piano playing friend. Again, this seems clear-cut to me - the painter/dance team will be going through.
21:27Sharon never thought she'd see these three groups together on the stage at the same time since only one will go through. Ah well, let's get on with it, shall we? Turns out, I was right - Scott Brothers are through!
21:24Time for more results! It's the 787 Crew, Lil Starr and The Scott Brothers. My vote is for the Scott Brothers - not because I particularly liked them the most, but the crowd seemed to.
21:19Since we're talking about Cirque du Soleil, can I just ask why the hell there's always that ONE freaky clown character? Why? I get that there's mythology involved in the show and their whole thing is to be mystical and strange, but the creepy clown has got to go.
21:16We could get to some more results now, but it's an hour-long broadcast and we've got time to waste. Therefore, it's time for a performance from Cirque do Soleil's new show, Zarkana. I like a bit of Cirque du Soleil, myself. Not enough to go see it, but I don't mind watching it in small doses and some of the acrobatics are pretty impressive.
21:10"We thank God for the pleasure of being able to perform on America's Got Talent. We thank the judges for allowing us the opportunity to come from Vegas to New York. We're enjoying it, we'll continue to thank the fans for voting for us tonight and we'll continue to strive to give the best performances we can. Thank you very much!" Maurice says. Shanice is also a bit emotional and super thankful for the opportunity. Aw, yay.
21:09Howie's got some harsh words for the three acts, and everyone sort of agrees that Shanice & Maurice are the ones who should go through. But did America agree? Of course they did! They're through to the semi-finals!
21:04First out to hear their results, Michael Nejad, Shanice & Maurice and Nikki Jensen. Well, I think we know the winner from this group.
21:04While we're waiting for some results, can we talk momentarily about Nick Cannon's hair? I'm not sure how I feel about his attempt to grow it out, but whatever. By the way, tonight the new Cirque du Soleil show will be performing, as will will.i.am. Double will. By the way, Howie's wearing a fedora tonight.
21:01Well, it's time! Tonight, eight acts will be sent home while four will make it through to the semi-finals. Who will it be? I don't care, so long as those dogs are through, to be honest.
