Well, that's it - the quarter finals have come to a close and it's time for the last group of semi-finalists to be revealed. After yesterday's exciting performances, it's anyone's guess as to which four acts will be going forward. Luckily, you can stick with Digital Spy live from 9/8c to find out!
22:00Another FYI, since the Olympics are about to take over our lives (ugh), there won't be a new show for three weeks - so join us then (and hopefully you won't stop caring about the show in the meantime)!
21:59Hey, FYI, there's a Wild Card show coming up and the judges get to pick who goes on it - she picks All That as her first, so we'll be seeing them again.
21:58After a totally unnecessary ad break, it's time to find out who's going through. Howie's vote goes to keep Dittelman, unsurprisingly. Sharon, however, goes with All That (probably just to put the heat on Howard). Finally, Howard goes with Dittelman. That means Dittelman's through.
21:50The act heading home is... Lindsey Norton (so THAT's her name!). Her time on the show was "amazing" but it's clear she's emotional about heading home, so she makes a quick exit from the stage. That means it's up to the judges to decide whether Dittelman or All That goes forward, and I think we all know who it's going to be.
21:47There are only three acts left - All That, Eric Dittelman and that 16-year-old dancer girl whose name I cannot remember to safe my life (and they don't seem to want to say it). Only one of them can go through, though... who will it be? My money's on Dittelman!
21:38Hey, want to waste another segment? Time for a performance from Once! What's with Broadway wanting to turn films into stage shows all the time now? Argh. I saw the film in theatres years ago, though, and I do remember enjoying it. This performance is a bit odd, however - reminds me of the steerage party scene from Titanic.
21:32Yep, it's Joe Castillo! Well-deserved, really. "I'm honoured, I'm humbled [and] I'm very happy," he says. Howard is thrilled as he really "responded" to Joe's work.
21:28Joe Castillo, Horse and Eric & Olivia are called to the stage next... and again, this one is easy to call. Joe - the amazing sand artist, in case you forgot - should be the one going to the semi-finals.
21:25As expected, it's William Close who's going forward. Ah, well. Can't say we were at all surprised. "The artists that I've been on the stage with this week have been amazing," he says following the announcement. I'm honoured to be moving on... and thanks to the judges. You guys made some beautiful comments yesterday and I really appreciate it."
21:22Time for more results! Out on the stage next, it's William Close, Unity In Motion and Sebastian El Charro de Oro. Whaaaat! That's crazy. All three of them were great, so it's really hard to know who's going to win this one. I'd say William Close, but I'll be sad to see our little mariachi man hit the road.
21:17Nick tries to talk to Cher about her success in the US and can only seem to remark, "You sound like Sharon!" Erm, not really. Don't make me start to get uppity about regional English accents!
21:14Hey look, it's time for Cher Lloyd! She's singing her debut single, 'Want U Back'. She sounds a bit odd but I can't hate on Cher - she has had such a hard time in the press since X Factor, really. This song is pretty terrible, though. I wish she would have gone in more of the hip hop direction than pop, but whatever.
21:08Obviously, there is a God, because I was right - it's Olate Dogs through to the semi-finals. AHHH! "Words can't explain. I'm shaking, it's incredible. We put a lot into the dogs and I guess it paid off. Thank you, we love you all," the trainers say. Sharon is "more than delighted' at the development and is so excited for them. Me, too!
21:04Ulysses, Olate Dogs and David "The Bullet" Smith are first on the stage. Okay, listen. The dogs are going through. They have to be - there is no other option.
21:03Tonight, the cast of Broadway's Once will be performing and... Cher Lloyd. I know she's all the rage now (apparently) in America, but I'd just like to point out that you guys didn't know her when she was some little scrappy doo being coached by Cheryl Cole on The X Factor UK. She was a lot different then, but we all knew she'd end up being a star.
21:01Well, time to send some more people home. I'm just going to say this before we get started: If Olate Dogs don't get through, I quit. That's it. I just quit life. I LOVE THOSE DOGS!
