The girls meet Miss J and actor JB Smoove at the Upright Citizens Brigade to learn about improvisation. Miss J explains that it involves humour and quick thinking which is sometimes needed in modelling. The contestants watch the performers before taking to the stage themselves.
Back at the house, Anslee suggests that Alasia doesn't deserve to be in the competition because her emotions aren't in control and her age isn't an excuse, pointing to her own experience becoming a mum at 19 years old.
Meanwhile, celebrity hairdresser Sally Hershberger arrives to tackle Brenda's hair and decides to shave it at the sides. Brenda says it's not really her style and she'll have to work hard to get a good shot.
The models arrive in Times Square and meet actress and CoverGirl spokesperson Dania Ramirez, who says tonight's challenge will see them appearing in a voice-over commercial for the company, meaning they must make their personality shine through. All the 30-second adverts will be shown live in Times Square.
She advises everybody needs to stop holding back and go all the way with their actions. Tatianna is named the winner because she secured the audience attention from the beginning and gets across who she really is. She wins a feature in Seventeen and CoverGirl's website.
Back at the house an argument erupts between Anslee and Alasia over refrigerated food, leading to Alasia making a remark about Anslee's daughter causing Anslee to explode in anger.
The girls arrive at a warehouse to find a man lying in a bathtub filled with blood. Jay enters the room dressed in leather and sunglasses, which he removes to reveal fully white eyes. He introduces himself as the Head Vampire and the bathtub man as his victim.
Today's shoot is a vampire-themed shoot. The girls will pose in the blood with the model but there is a twist - they have to wear white-out contact lenses that will completely obscure their vision.
Jay is impressed by the majority of performances, lavishing particular praise on Tatianna who he jokes is "too natural" with the theme. Brenda begins crying after putting in the contacts and is comforted by Anslee, before going on to impress Jay.
Tyra, Nigel and André are joined by Dania for the judging.
Tatianna: Nigel feels the angst; Dania likes the attitude; André calls it dramatic and narrative
Jessica: Nigel wants more body action; André doesn't like the leg angle; Tyra thinks it's safe but stunning
Alasia: Everybody loves it, with Nigel branding it "unbelievable" and saying she managed to tell a story with her eyes despite having none!
Simone: Dania "doesn't love" it; Nigel calls it "ungainly" and lacking sensuality; Tyra thinks she could be stronger
Angelea: Nigel thinks it's cool and interesting, but wants more neck; André calls her toe angle this week's "dreckitude" moment
Krista: Nigel jokes that she's almost levitating out of the tub; Dania calls it tense; Tyra says the face is wrong
Raina: Tyra loves the dark, edgy energy; Nigel likes the way she is pulling the model's tie to drag him into the picture
Alexandra: André sees romance; Nigel and Tyra point out she seems to favour one pose and advise her to make sure she's good at other ones
Brenda: André thinks her feet look awkward; Tyra calls her a soccer mum with a cool haircut, but likes her hand angles
Anslee: André doesn't like how she is grabbing the tub; Nigel says he doesn't like hearing excuses and she needs to get in control of her own destiny
The call-out order is: Alasia, Raina, Tatianna, Brenda, Alexandra, Angelea, Jessica, Krista and Brenda. Simone and Anslee are in the bottom two. Tyra says Anslee has amazing bone structure but her photos are starting to fall flat, while Simone has strong potential that isn't coming across in her photos. Simone is eliminated.
"Of course I'm disappointed. We all come here with the intention of winning," she says. "We're given all the tools to be successful and maybe I just didn't use mine to the fullest. I'm definitely going to follow Tyra's advice and still pursue modelling."
