The girls return home from panel to discover that it's makeover week on America's Next Top Model! Everyone is slightly nervous about what look Tyra has in store for them, after finding a list of possible hair styles waiting for them at the house, including 'manly and spiked', 'kinky, red and wild' and 'big, gurly and curly'.

The day of the makeover looms and everybody has mixed feelings as they take their turn in the hair stylist's chair. Brittani is thrilled with her short black bob with heavy bangs, while Jaclyn is pleased to just have her natural curls enhanced even more (although Miss J teases that he might take a razor to her locks). Monique has a few hair extensions added, while Sara has her "rat tail" chopped off and her prediction of short dark spikes comes true. She later says that she knows it makes the best of the androgynous features but it also puts pressure on her because all the attention is focused on her face. She adds that she sometimes "feels like Sméagol" in the corner surrounded by beautiful girls.

Alexandria has her blonde roots touched up and extensions added, although she's unhappy with how the stylist is attaching them and voices her concerns, which doesn't impress Jaclyn and Brittani. "I need it done my way," says Alexandria. "My way is the right way because this is a competition. If I don't feel confident and if you are screwing with that confidence then you are screwing with me."

Dominique is initially upset to have her hair and eyebrows dyed red but later decides that she likes the look because it makes her stand out and look more like a model. Mikaela and Dalya are both given long black extensions, while Kasia's blonde hair is crimped and Hannah is given big blonde waves and lightened eyebrows.

Molly, however, has a problem with her hair. An outside weave specialist has been brought in, but she isn't happy with the final result because she can see where her natural hair meets the additions. She laments that her hair has been "butchered" and looks weird. Mr Jay says that she should think of Tyra as her client and because this is the look Tyra requested, she should prove she can make it work.

Photoshoot

This week's main photoshoot is styled by Lori Goldstein. The girls are put in two or threes to model haute couture, with the goal being to see who can stand out in a group picture. Kasia and Molly seem to get off to an awkward start by not making the two dresses work in tandem, but soon pull it together. Alexandria (who was being cranky while being styled) is next up with Monique, followed by Sara and Mikaela, Brittani and Hannah, and finally Dominique, Dalya and Jaclyn. Mr Jay doesn't think Dominique is shining, admitting that he'd probably cut her out of the final picture. He asks her what she is feeling when she is being photographed and she replies nothing. He says she needs to find her inspiration. An upset Dominique insists that she is giving it her all but he doesn't see it.

Panel

Tyra, Nigel and Andre are joined by Lori (who has styled over 60 covers for Vogue Italia and worked as contributing editor for Vogue and Allure for the panel).

Monique and Alexandria
The panel think they both look stunning. Nigel sees personality and a twinkle in Monique's eyes, although he admits to being drawn towards Alexandria even though her shot is posed. Lori says that Alexandria nailed it in each shot but warns her not to be cranky behind the scenes. "You can't afford to be a diva," agrees Nigel.

Brittani and Hannah
"This whole shot works in so many ways," says Nigel. He loves Hannah's "broken body language" and calls it her first true fashion shot. Andre thinks they both encapsulate high fashion: "I'm blown away by this photograph." Tyra praises Lori's styling for the shot, and says that she's happy Brittani and Hannah worked together to get the best shot.

Dominique, Dalya and Jaclyn
Nigel thinks it's slightly Alice In Wonderland-esque. He loves Dalya's hand to the face gesture, and Jaclyn's ethereal, feminine and Southern Belle style. He thinks Dominique is unusual and doesn't necessarily fit in. Lori says that she saw Dominique losing herself during the shoot. Tyra questions what happened. "I don't know," replies Dominique, admitting that she felt like she was messing up when Mr Jay asked her what she was thinking and she had no answer. Nigel says she should use critique to pick her up and improve.

Mikaela and Sara
Lori thinks Mikaela looks beautiful but points out her eyes weren't open in any pictures. Andre thinks Sara looks like she "just got caught on camera at a party". Nigel agrees, saying: "It's OK, not brilliant. I've lost your cool chicness and modernity." Tyra tells Sara that the camera loves the planes of her face but she needs to know that and own what she has.

Kasia and Molly
Tyra notes that Molly's weave looks slightly crazy and promises they will do something about it if she sticks around. Nigel thinks Molly is striking in the shot. He's not 100% sure about Kasia's mouth being so open, although Tyra disagrees: "It's stunning!" Andre thinks it's the best photo of the bunch. "If you tried to upstage each other it didn't work; you both look great." It's Lori's favourite too.

Alexandria is named best picture for standing out among the crowd, although Tyra warns her that a bad attitude on set won't be tolerated.. The call-out order is: Molly, Brittani, Kasia, Jaclyn, Hannah, Monique, Dalya and Mikaela, meaning that Sara and Dominique are the bottom two. The judges think Sara has potential but lacks confidence, while she tells Dominique that freckles don't make a model: "It comes from the inside out."

Dominique is sent home. She vows never to give up her dream. "I have a great personality and it just didn't show," she says. "I feel like I would be a great asset to this industry."
