Laura's feeling confident since she won best photo, but notes that though Sophie is happy for her, the others are wondering "when this bitch is going to fall". It's certainly getting tense - Alisha admits that people are "getting a bit catty", including herself! And Eboni's not happy that Laura's doing so well since she "hates" her. Laura doesn't do anything to disprove that, saying in confessional: "Eboni is an obnoxious, spoiled little brat." Ouch!
Elsewhere, Alisha is worried about her chances in the competition since she was in the bottom two last week... and has been a few times. "It's annoying," she admits, pointing out that she was never in the bottom two in Britain's Next Top Model and that she "doesn't understand what they want from me". But Annaliese is feeling much more confident - "I'm kind of steadily going upwards", she says, suggesting that Alisha is "deteriorating".
The women travel to their challenge, with Laura annoying the other models with her talk about sex: "I wonder when I'll have sex again," she muses, suggesting that skyscrapers are built to represent "male parts". "Disgusting," Alisha gasps. "How can you live your life like that? You walk on a street, you want to hump a pole?"
Anyway, the models all arrive in Hong Kong and find Miss J... with actor and musician Nicholas Tse! After a little demonstration of a fight scene ("Do I have to get involved?" Alisha worries), Nicholas reveals that the women will have to learn a fight scene and take part in an acting challenge. And there's a big prize - the winner will return to Hong Kong to star in Nicholas's music video!
All of the models get paired up with partners, but because she won best photo, Laura's paired with Nicholas himself - causing a tiny bit of resentment from the other models. And it doesn't help that Laura's attracted to him ("he is so cute"), as Eboni says it's not fair. Elsewhere, some of the models are feeling confident because of their own background in martial arts (or in Alisha's case, her brother's background), but Sophie dances around like a pixie, giggling. She gets some motivation, though, by imagining that she's taking down the other models!
Soon, it's time for the models' screen tests - full of slightly questionable acting and competent stage fighting! Eboni's first and messes up her last line, but thinks she "recovered well". On the other hand, she thinks Alisha "nailed it"! Annaliese says winning would be "fan-dabby-dozie", and she does so well that Laura's a little nervous.
Still, channeling Angelina Jolie, she lets her hair down (apparently in Ange's fight scenes it's all "sexy hair flying around"). But Eboni thinks it's "kind of weird" and Alisha says: "Laura thinks she's Tomb Raider. She is not Angelina Jolie - let's be real here!" Last up is Sophie, who admits that she'd overexcited herself by the time she got onto set. But Alisha doesn't think Sophie can really fight - "it's like glitter coming out of her fists".
Who'll win the challenge, though? Nicholas has nice words to say about all of them, but eventually reveals that Laura is the winner. Laura's thrilled, obviously, but Alisha - who thought she had it in the bag - is fuming. "I'm hating right now and I don't care," she growls. "I'm p*ssed off, big time."
The tension continues back at the house, as Sophie jokes that Nicholas was "eye sexing" Laura and Laura admits that she "wouldn't mind having sex with him". With the atmosphere pretty tense, Eboni lets slip a comment about Laura sleeping her way to the top. Yikes! "You freaking bitch!" Laura gasps in confessional.
And in the house, she returns when Eboni is asleep to insist that she has "more self-respect than that" and to deny that she would ever do that. The other models seem unconvinced though - Alisha calls Laura a "slag" in confessionals (goodness!) and Annaliese says that since Laura's so sexual on shoots, it "smells a bit fishy". What everyone needs is a good night's sleep...
The Photo Shoot
Unfortunately, they're not going to get it - the models are woken at 5.30am by hair and make-up, then it's off to their shoot! Some of the models - particularly Alisha and Sophie - are not impressed when they discover they'll be posing on top of the Macau Tower - 764ft above the ground. Sophie almost instantly begins crying and admits that she's not sure whether she can do it...
In fact, Nigel wants Sophie to go first, but she's so upset that she asks for someone else to go first. Nigel's lovely and understanding, but when Sophie hears perky Laura (who's irritating the girls more by being so excited about the shoot) say that she'll take her place, she quickly changes her mind and goes first after all! She's genuinely terrified, crying and clinging on to her harness, but gets through the shoot (and her reward is a hug from Nigel.) Afterwards, she breaks down in tears: "It's the hardest thing I ever had to do."
Annaliese isn't scared of heights - "I'm scared of falling from heights"! She admits she's nervous because of all the wind, but Jay's impressed with the way she worked with the harness. Laura's next... and guess what, she's annoying the other models! This time, Eboni's irritated because Laura "is obviously physically attracted to Nigel Barker" and is "annoying" and "over-the-top". But Nigel and Jay are both impressed: "She is working my nerves, she's so fabulous!"
Eboni's next and decides to focus on her facial expressions as much as possible, adding that she needs to be proud of how far she's come (though Nigel wants more "energy" from her). Laura's not doing anything to make friends - in confessional, she says: "If I didn't win, I'd rather have a Brit win." Last up is Alisha, who's also "terrified" about the shoot - still, Annaliese notes that she's "going for it". But Alisha says she doesn't know what the judges expect of her, since despite giving everything she ends up with "mediocre pictures". Nigel seems to agree, he says he knows that Alisha was determined to do well... but she's "not letting herself actually be as beautiful as she can be".
Back at the hotel, the models are absolutely exhausted... and Alisha in particular is having a tough time. Laura's annoyed about the others "crying over things that are so insignificant", but Alisha says that shoot was so "horrible" it's making her question if she actually wants to model! "I'm just fed up," she sighs, adding that if she's in the bottom two she just wants to go home. Well, let's find out...
Nicholas Tse joins Nigel, Tyra Banks and Kelly Cutrone on the panel this week, and we get straight into it with the British girls!
Annaliese admits that she thought the shoot would be worse than it was, and Nigel praises the way Annaliese incorporated her harness for "great archer moves". And Annaliese's biggest critic Kelly is also impressed, saying she has a "yogic warrior pose" and adding: "I don't have any criticism of this shot." Nicholas says Annaliese is "very dominant" and Tyra agrees it's "strong" but advises her to "relax the nose" in future.
Nigel admits an "odd pose" but the picture was chosen as it's the most editorial. He says she did a good job, but could have done better. Tyra compares the shot to someone going to church 60 years ago and says she would have liked to have seen more "swan neck" (though in the shoot, Alisha had been asked to lower her chin.) And Kelly says that Alisha is a supermodel in person, but it doesn't come through in her photos - "I'm getting concerned."
Sophie admits that the shoot was "probably the most petrifying thing" but Nigel says that while she did freak out, she also had calmer moments which he could shoot. Nicholas is impressed - Sophie doesn't look petrified and she has an "awesome gesture posture". But while Kelly praises Sophie for overcoming her fear, she's not "digging" the pose ("It's kind of like a weathervane"). Tyra advises Sophie to go "somewhere else" on her mind if she's scared on a shoot.
Nigel says that Eboni had a chance to "rock it" since she wasn't scared, but while her body language was good her face wasn't. Kelly's not keen either - "it's like the Leaning Tower of Pisa mixed with a candy store". Nicholas says Eboni's pulling a "gutsy pose" at such height, but Tyra advises Eboni that she needs to work on her angles and know what works for her face.
"I'll go first," Kelly says. "I love it. Amazing." She has a little criticism about Laura's hand, but otherwise gushes about it. Nicholas likes Laura's face but admits that he would have liked her legs to be extended a little more. Tyra agrees that the photo is "absolutely beautiful" and says Laura's an example of a model knowing her angles!
The judges deliberate...
Kelly still doesn't think Annaliese is a model, and Nicholas thinks she could be a good actress. But Nigel points out that her photos are getting better all the time and brings up cycle 2's Mercedes, who was similar and is still working. On the other hand, there's Alisha, who the judges agree is a model in person but not in photographs. It's a dilemma!
Sophie's photo is still not impressing Kelly, but Nicholas is taken by her, describing her smile as "adorable". Nigel points out how well Sophie did in conquering her fears, but Kelly retorts that people looking at the photograph wouldn't know about that. Nigel insists she delivered - "Ish," Kelly replies. The judges are more in agreement about Eboni, who Nigel says is "stunning" but needs more than that. And as for Laura, the judges are all impressed... though Nigel points out that she wouldn't necessarily be much better than the other models if none of them had been scared.
So who goes home?
Laura takes home best photo again, and is followed by Sophie and Annaliese. Alisha's sobbing, and her bottom two companion Eboni also begins to cry! Tyra explains that they both have an awful lot of potential, but the judges are consistently disappointed by their photos. So who stays? It's Alisha!
But wait... what's this awkward silence? Eventually Alisha shakes her head and says she can't stay in the competition. "I'd rather walk away and get my spirit back," she says, crying, insisting that she's not being ungrateful but that she doesn't want to take this opportunity away from any of the other models, including Eboni.
Tyra seems understanding, but hits us with another shocker: "You can leave, but Eboni is leaving with you." That's right - we're saying goodbye to two models! Tyra tells Eboni to get in the mirror and practise, but Eboni admits later that she feels like the judges never got to see "the person who I know is inside of me". She jokes that she might not stick to being 30-Never, but she will keep Tyra's advice in mind.
As for Alisha, Tyra says she has "so much potential". Afterwards, Alisha admits that this was harder than Britain's Next Top Model and she doesn't want to "forget" herself. "Every time I see my picture come up I can't relate to it," she explains. "I just feel it's not me there." She confesses that she was trying to pretend to be happy and to be strong but "physically, I don't feel strong." She adds: "My mum always said, 'If you feel like you've lost your spirit, come home', and I have. I want to go home."
