'Big Brother' USA: New Head of Household named - Live blog

By
It's been a crazy month on Big Brother USA, and last week, things got even crazier when the four veteran players - previously working as coaches to the newbies - were given the opportunity to join the game.

Their decision to do so reset the game, saving nominees Joe and Frank from the chopping block and giving Britney, Boogie, Dan and Janelle the chance to take home an even bigger prize. Tonight, we find out who becomes the new Head of Household, and who they'll put on the chopping block. Join Digital Spy live from 8/7c for all the action!

20:57That's it for tonight! Tune in on Wednesday (August 8) at 8/7c to see who wins the Power of Veto and see all the latest drama from the house.

20:57Once all the keys are pulled, it's revealed that Wil and Frank have been put on the chopping block. Danielle insists it's nothing personal and that she hates doing it, but has nothing more to say about it. Wil is none too pleased with the development since she gave her word, but Danielle insists that Wil is nothing more than a pawn and that Frank is the real target. Boogie is "thoroughly offended" that he got his key, giving his usual arrogant speech about what a threat he is to the game. Yawn.

20:53It's time for nominations! Let's get to it.

20:47Dan attempts to give Danielle some advice on her nominations since she wants to get Frank out. Danielle wants to put Boogie and Frank out, but Dan thinks that Boogie will go home over Frank - probably because he's afraid of going home next week himself. Danielle is unsure of what to do as it could really go either way - especially with the Power of Veto competition coming up.

20:45Ian tries to flirt with Ashley in the garden, though she seems to be distracted by a weightlifting (and shirtless) Ian. The next morning, Frank and Boogie talk about their feelings on this upcoming week. Boogie's still angry that Frank was going to be voted out last week and that Danielle has won the Head of Household competition so he complains about it for a while and insists that he's not going to "kiss anybody's ass".

20:39Downstairs in the kitchen, Wil talks with Britney and Danielle about who might be going home. Wil reminds her that she told him she'd keep him safe, but isn't buying that she will honour her word. This puts a bit of a kink in her plan as she doesn't want to go against her word.

20:38Later that night, Dan, Britney, Danielle and Shane lie around the Head of Household room discussing who they believe is the most dangerous. Britney names Wil and Frank and agrees with the others that Janelle and Boogie are big threats. Dan doesn't want a former coach to go home as he believes that it'll put a bigger target on his back. A plan is eventually hatched to put Wil and Frank on the block in order to get Frank out of the house.

20:35Dan admits his mistake to Danielle, but she forgives him as she doesn't believe he started trouble intentionally. Still, there's not much time to discuss it as it's time to see her Head of Household room, which is full of photos of her family and friends, along with lots of treats.

20:33Coming in to interrupt Frank and Boogie's conversation, Britney is confronted with the news that they know Frank was on his way out. She pretends she knew nothing about it, and says that someone has some explaining to do privately when it comes to whoever threw Shane under the bus. Britney suggests that she and Shane get their stories straight with Dan and Danielle, and Shane also says that he needs to keep his head down.

20:32Dan is upset that Boogie told Frank was going to go home as it has backfired on him because now he feels like he's in a lot of trouble. Meanwhile, Danielle and Shane discuss the Head of Household, and Shane admits that he feels his week upstairs was "pointless" since the game was reset and no one went home. Instead, now he's made more enemies because of who he chose to put on the block. Danielle also says she gets a bad vibe from Janelle and feels that the veteran player may be threatened by her. Sounds like Janelle may be on the chopping block.

20:26Finally, Ian makes a deal with Danielle, and since Britney knows she's safe, Danielle takes the Head of Household position for the week and gets a big kiss from Shane for doing so.

20:24Ian wants to make a deal with Danielle, telling her that he'll keep her safe, but Dan slips into coach mode, saying that she should set the deals, not accept them. He tells her he's proud and that she can do it, though it annoys some of the others. However, Frank and Boogie have gone missing and are in the house, with Boogie revealing to Frank that Dan told him he was actually the target for elimination - much to Frank's surprise.

20:17Finally, it comes down to Britney, Danielle, Janelle and Ian. Janelle can't hang on much longer and decides to put her trust in Britney not to nominate her if she wins. None of them seems willing to budge, either.

20:13Ashley's down not long after, and on the sly, Frank tries to tell Shane that if he goes, he's safe because Frank would put up two coaches. Speaking of coaches, Dan falls next, privately admitting that his strategy is the same as when he won the game - building a weak persona. Wil is a little too smart, however, and notices this behaviour right away.

20:12As if hanging off the side of a ship and being drenched in water isn't enough, soon the players are covered in seagull poop. They're all getting cold and tired, and Boogie jumps first. He wants to send the message that he's not a big threat, but that may come back to bite him. Jenn goes next, followed by Joe.

20:08Janelle lies about pressing the button as she wants to give off the image that she's got the mindset of a coach, but Boogie's not really buying it. He is, of course, pretty unhappy with having to join the game as a regular player as he thought he had the game on lock.

20:05Ian isn't so happy that the coaches have joined the game, since he used to have a one in seven chance of winning and now it's a one in eleven. Joe's also pretty unhappy as he worked hard all week to assure that he'd be staying and Frank would be going. Most of the players seemed a little flummoxed and suspect that the coaches might work together as an alliance, though that remains to be seen.

During the task, Janelle whispers along to Britney to ask if she pressed the button to get back in the game, but she says no. The truth is, everyone but Boogie did, so they're all as guilty as one another.

20:02It's all up in the air in the house. As you remember, we left the whole house - including the former coaches, who are now players themselves - working on this week's Head of Household competition. They were hanging on the side of a swinging wall in a challenge of endurance, and it's anyone's guess who will win.
