Julie informs us that it's day 68 in the house - wow, time flies! But it's time to drop in on the housemates, all of whom are scattered around the house. Hearing Julie's voice, they all come running to the living room and have a pretty good idea of what's going down. She lets them know that they'd better get ready as the voting process will begin soon, followed immediately by the new HoH competition. Uh oh! Jenn immediately starts packing, while Shane paces sort of blankly. Dan pulls Ian aside immediately for a private strategy meeting.
Before we get to all that, Shane and Jenn do at least have an opportunity to save themselves as we've yet to play this week's PoV competition! Jenn is absolutely furious with Dan, as she wonders how he always manages to get out of things. However, he insists that she's got a "dangerous player" on her side to the end and thinks it's good that she's so riled up as it means Shane won't realise that he's really the target. Jenn and Danielle then talk, where Danielle confides that Shane doesn't act like he really likes her and that he's probably just playing her for the sake of his game. Well, too right, Danielle. Jenn admits that it does seem that way, but she can't say for sure. "Don't worry," Danielle assures Jenn of the upcoming PoV. "I'm about to play the player."
Everyone heads to the garden for the HoH competition, which is set up like a giant puzzle complete with Salvador Dali melting clocks. Basically, they need to fly from the puzzle to the timer and hit the button, which magnetises the puzzle board for 20 seconds. Then they need to jet back to the puzzle board to start assembling it. However, there's a catch - they'll need to keep flying back to hit the button to make sure their board stays magnetised to hold the puzzle together. If their timer gets to 0, their boards will demagnetise and their progress will be gone. The player to get it completed first and to hit their button a final time will get the PoV and a secret luxury prize.
Ian's board demagnetises multiple times causing him to lose the progress he's made over and over again. Shane wants to put the puzzle together in his little area before putting it up on the board, while Dan just wants all the pieces on the board so he can organise them later. Shane, however, seems to be making the most progress and even Danielle cheats off him a bit. Ian is then completely eliminated from the competition, while Shane and Jenn are in the running for the win.
After getting all dressed up and chauffeured off into a limousine, Danielle and Shane head off into Los Angeles and are even holding hands in the back of the car. Shane admits it's their first date, but I don't really think he's genuine. In any case, they get to see the Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastic Champions, including the Fierce Five! In walk the young gymnasts for a private meet and greet, though they seem to wonder what the point of meeting reality stars is. Danielle asks them how long they've been "tumbling". Aw, how cute. Shane also puts his foot in his mouth by claiming that the Olympic team is a lot like Big Brother since "a lot of people try out". Oh, dear.
After their date, Danielle and Shane head back to the house with Danielle lying on his chest in the back of the limo. She says during a VT that she feels like their connection is "real" and she's going to trust her gut. He then asks her to sleep in his bed tonight and she says yes. Then he spews off a bit of romance by saying that even if they don't win, they walk away with something special - this night together. Oh, brother.
When they get back to the house, the rest of the housemates are interested in hearing all about their evening. Later that night, Danielle runs into Dan in the kitchen, where he tries to quiz her on how the night went. Danielle admits later in the diary room that she doesn't know who to choose, as her head thinks she should go with Dan but her heart obviously thinks it's Shane.
It's time for the Veto meeting, and of course Shane uses it to save himself. Why wouldn't he? Ian has to name a replacement nominee and he chooses Danielle in what's probably the worst decision he could have made - he's blind as a bat. Dan is all too excited that he's yet again managed to escape the hot seat and vows to "stab anyone and do anything" to make sure he wins the game again.
There are only two people voting this week, and that's Shane and Dan. Quite expectedly, both men vote to evict Jenn and to save Danielle, so Jenn is sent packing. When talking to Julie, she admits that she should have won the PoV as it was her only chance of saving herself. She also insists that she has no regrets about saving Dan a couple of weeks ago and shaking up the game. Julie also presents her with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, which she begins eating right there on camera.
With no time to lose, it's time for the next Head of Household competition, the winner of which will automatically move on to the final three. It's called "Photographic Memory". Julie will ask them questions based on photos they saw earlier today. It's a true or false game, and they need to get the most points correct after seven rounds to win. Ian can't play, so it's just Dan, Danielle and Shane going for it.
It comes down to a tie breaker between Dan and Danielle, and there's a question they've got to answer, guessing the number of seconds that elapsed during the Time Flies veto competition. Dan guesses 626, while Danielle goes with 155. The actual answer is 524 and that makes Danielle the winner as she did not go over the actual answer - she's the new Head of Household! But who will she nominate? Well, we'll find that out tomorrow - as well as the next person to go home - tonight (Thursday, September 16) at 9/8c!
