The initial Saturday evening broadcast of 'The End Of Time, Part Two', which was also the last episode from showrunner Russell T. Davies, averaged an audience of 1.02 million, TVbytheNumbers reports.
A second and third telecast pushed the figure to a total of 1.47 million. This exceeded the 1.1 million recorded for the three airings of 'Waters Of Mars' last month.
Senior vice president of BBC America Richard De Croce had previously confirmed that both parts of Tennant's final episodes would be shown a day after their UK premiere to capitalise on the public's anticipation.
