'The Biggest Loser': The finale - recap

By
So, it's all come down to this! Yes, the finale of The Biggest Loser is always exciting, but who'd be saying hello to the $250,000 grand prize? Jeremy, Conda and Kim are all in the running, but before that there's the little matter of the $100,000 at-home prize to settle...

Alison Sweeney takes to the stage to describe this season as a "wild ride" (I'll say!) After seeing clips of their journey, it's time to welcome back the 14 eliminated contestants (that's minus the three that quit and must not be named...)

We welcome back Ben, Mike, Lauren, Gail, Nancy, Adrian, Roy (who's cut his beard substantially!), Daphne, Chism, Cassandra, Emily, Kimmy, Megan and Chris, and Alison announces that they all look "amazing" and "spectacular". But they need to get changed into their weigh-in clothes... it's time to find out who's going to be $100,000 richer!

The At-Home Prize Weigh-In

After saying hello to Bob and Dolvett, let's get this weigh-in under way! The person with the highest percentage of weight loss will take home the $100,000 prize - if that's not an incentive I don't know what is!

Chism
Chism's first up, but how will he do? His starting weight was 361lbs - he's now down to 258lbs! That's a loss of 103lbs, or 28.53%. He admits he's feeling "good", too.

Nancy
Nancy was 217lbs - she's now down to 161lbs! That's a loss of 56lbs, or 25.81% - not quite good enough to take the lead, but still very impressive. "You must be so proud," Alison says.

Cassandra
Cassandra started the competition at 239lbs... but she's now 14lbs! That's a great loss of 92lbs, or 38.49. Chism claps her as she takes the lead. "I'm freaking out!" she admits, as Bob calls her weight loss "unbelievable". But will she be able to keep the lead? As we wait to find out, Cassandra admits that she tried on her first bikini recently. "I was thinking I was going to be so traumatised," she says. "And I looked at myself and I'm like, 'In all my imperfect glory, I just love myself so completely'. It was huge." Lovely! As Alison says, "Cassandra's already won." But can she hold on to the lead and take the at-home prize?

Ben
Ben was eliminated in the first week of the competition, but that didn't stop him. He began at 396lbs but is now on 257lbs - a loss of 139lbs and 35.1%! It's not enough to take over from Cassandra, but Alison says he looks "spectacular".

Daphne
Daphne started at 271lbs - now she's on 183lbs! She's shed 88lbs, and 32.47% It's not enough to beat Cassandra, but I think we can agree it's pretty good!

Adrian
Adrian began on 370lbs and now weighs in at 262lbs - that's a loss of 108lbs and 29.19%. He doesn't take the lead, but Adrian's smiling away: "I'm feeling great." He thanks everyone for their support, praising the Biggest Loser family and joking: "Just like any family we might be dysfunctional, but we are family."

Emily
Can Emily, as Alison puts it, go from being a weightlifter to a weightdropper? Emily and Cassandra are "BFFs" but now they're going up against each other. Emily started the show at 264lbs and needs to lose 101lbs to take the lead... and it turns out she's lost 102lbs! Yep, she does it by just 1lb and a percentage weight loss of 38.64%. The two women hug as Emily says it feels "amazing". Meanwhile, Bob says he "could not be more proud".

Megan
Megan arrived on campus with a weight of 259lbs - she's now on 183lbs, meaning a loss of 76lbs or 29.34%. "You look fantastic!" Alison announces.

Kimmy
"I've got to say it," Alison says. "Kimmy's a nurse but she looks sick!" She began the show on 219lbs and is now on 148lbs - that's a loss of 71lbs, or 32.42. "You look wonderful," Alison tells her.

Gail
Gail began the show on 322lbs and is now on 235lbs - a loss of 87lbs and 27.02%! It all gets a bit much for Gail, who begins to cry and mouths: "I love you all" at the audience. "It means the world to me," she adds. "I saved my life." She thanks everyone for all of their support - how nice!

Lauren
Lauren's next - she began at 246lbs and is now 157lbs - a great loss of 95lbs or 36.18%! Dolvett says he always knew there was an athlete in Lauren, and now he sees her - "You look beautiful." Lauren admits that she feels "amazing". Still, Emily remains in the lead...

Roy
Roy's next, so Alison makes a couple jokes about how he looks like Santa! Anyway, let's get down to business - he was at 306lbs and is now on 118lbs! That's a loss of 88lbs or 28.76% (I'm guessing cutting his beard may have helped a little!). "I feel great," Roy says. "I got my life back. It's worth every bit of it. I was never going for the money - I was going for health."

Chris
Alison says Chris has had "one of the most amazing transformations this season" but how does that translate to the scale? She began at 240lbs and is now on 163lbs - a loss of 77lbs and 32.08%. "You look wonderful," Alison says, pointing out Chris's smile. Now it's just down to Mike and Emily (who appears to swear in all the excitement!).

Mike
So Mike's the last eliminated contestant to weigh in - can he win the $100,000? He must be confident - he does a couple push-ups on the steps to the scale, as Alison jokes he's "showing off". But Mike does admit that he's "overwhelmed" - and he's "just so happy"! Let's see - Mike began the show at 258lbs and is now 198lbs - a stunning loss of 160lbs and 44.69%! That's right - he's taking home the $100,000! "Thank you!" Mike says, saying he loves everyone so much.

Time to meet the finalists

There's a quick chance to say hello to Biggest Loser newlyweds Sam and Stephanie and then it's time to welcome back the finalists!

Conda
Alison says Conda "proved sometimes the biggest changes are within" and then plays a video showing her journey. "I'm learning so much more about myself," she says. "When I came here I had the biggest attitude, and now I feel like I have changed." Soon, Conda makes her appearance on the Biggest Loser stage.

She tearfully admits that she is pleased with what she has achieved for the sake of her daughter - "Just to have her watch me up here, I accomplished what I came here to do," she says. "It's the best feeling in the world." She also points out that now that she is "healthy" her daughter has "so much more time". "I'm really happy," she adds.

Jeremy
Conda's brother Jeremy describes The Biggest Loser as an "amazing journey" in his introductory video, saying he always kept his eyes on the prize and his goal. He does look like he's lost a lot of weight when he walks out on stage ("You look fantastic!" Alison says.) Jeremy says he always thought he deserved his place in the final (referring to the mutiny and eliminated contestants' challenge) and there was no way he was going to give up.

Kim
In her video, Kim says she knows what it's like to fight but she wants to win the competition. "I could not feel more amazing," she adds. And when she comes out on stage, she looks great. "You look phenomenal," Alison tells her, before asking what's next for her. "I don't know what my future holds - I'm ready for anything," Kim says. "I really feel like I can do anything now and I'm just ready for the next chapter of my life."

There's more good news for Kim - she got the most people to sign up for the Presidential Active Lifestyle Challenge! That means she's won $30,000 of gym equipment for her community. Good going!

The Final Weigh-In

It's time for the final weigh-in as the finalists change into their workout gear. Conda's first to take to the scales - she began the competition at 294lbs and is now at 179lbs - that's a great loss of 115lbs or 39.12%!

But what about her brother Jeremy? Prepare to gasp - he started at 389lbs and is now on 190lbs. That's an astonishing loss of 199lbs, or 51.16%! "I feel great," he grins, though he admits that he's "scared" about the competition.

Let's see what Kim can do - she did have the highest percentage of weight loss on campus. But she's not too worried: "I think that we both won," she says. "So it doesn't matter." In fact, Kim's dropped from 252lbs to 134lbs - a wonderful loss of 118lbs and 46.83%!

But that means one thing - Jeremy's won the title of the Biggest Loser and the $250,000 prize! "Yes!" he yells. "Oh my God!" As the other contestants rush to congratulate him, Alison jokes that she can't even get close. But that's it for this season! "Have a happy healthy summer," Alison says, signing off. Now bring on season 14...
