The dispute between Lifetime, NBC Universal and The Weinstein Co. has been resolved and the Weinsteins will pay NBC Universal for the right to move the show to Lifetime, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"We’re thrilled to be launching our relationship with Lifetime with this groundbreaking cable deal that includes the next five years of Project Runway, our new spinoff show Models Of The Runway and the development of Project Pygmalion along with a package of our movies," Weinstein said in a statement released by NBC.
Lifetime’s CEO Andrea Wong added: "I couldn’t be more excited that Lifetime will bring its viewers an amazing, all-new season of Project Runway. As the highest-rated cable network for women, Lifetime is the perfect home for this outstanding programme."
The show will premiere on its new station this summer, with stars Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia all on board for the transition.
