Bravo has denied reports that it has started casting for The Real Housewives of Santa Barbara.

A recent article on Radar Online claimed that the network was planning to expand its Real Housewives franchise.

The rumours suggested that the show, which would begin in September 2013, was looking for "socially prominent, wealthy women" from the Californian city to star in the project.

However, Bravo has denied the rumours by telling E! Online that the speculation is "completely not true".

The Real Housewives franchise began in Orange County and also has instalments set in New York City, Atlanta, New Jersey, Beverly Hills and Miami.

However, The Real Housewives of DC was cancelled last year after one season.
