Survivor host Jeff Probst has revealed that the upcoming season of the reality series will feature a "massive lie" that will turn the game on its head.
Speaking to Zap2It in advance of tonight's season premiere, Probst said that for a while even he fell for "the greatest lie ever told on Survivor. "
"It's brilliant. It's brutal and it's brilliant and it totally suckered me," he added, refusing to reveal who told the lie or what happened as a result. "My first reaction was 'Motherf***er,' and then my second reaction was 'Wow, that's amazing.' "
As well as the big fib from one of the contestants, there are also some new twists to keep the show fresh, as well as a "regrettable event".
"There's ... a very, very regrettable event that happens, and the person to whom it happens is going to regret it ... more than they have any idea right now," Probst continued. "I couldn't believe it when it happened, and I can't wait for it to play out.
"There's also a huge twist to come that this time next year we'll be talking about, and you'll have an opinion on whether you loved or hated it."
The 90-minute premiere of Survivor 7: Pearl Islands airs at 8pm tonight on CBS.
