Survivor 3: Third contestant booted
Published Saturday, Oct 27 2001, 12:08 BST | By Neil Wilkes
Samburu gained its first casualty on Thursday's Survivor: Africa, with dentist Carl Bilancione becoming the third person voted off.
Bilancione drew four votes with Lindsey Richter, reflecting two alliances which had formed over the previous days. A second vote also ended in a 3-3 tie.
The pair were then asked questions about survival in a 'sudden death' situation. After several ties, Bilancione eventually lost out.
He said afterwards: "Unfortunately our tribe is split and it is an obvious split. It was a generation gap. We had four people who were in their forties and have a sense of responsibility. Then, you have four people who are confused in their lives. Kinda sad. Kinda worried about that generation. Maybe they outwitted me in that sense of sportsmanship but I have no regrets."
