Jake Pavelka has suggested that Ryan Park would be a good choice for the next Bachelor.

Park appeared on Ashley Hebert's recently-wrapped season of The Bachelorette. He was eliminated in Taiwan but returned to ask for a second chance in Fiji, although Hebert rejected him.

Pavelka, who fronted the 14th season of the ABC romance show, told reporters on a recent conference call that producers had a "couple of good choices" to front the next instalment of the show.

"The guys that seem to have really successful seasons on The Bachelor are the guys that are vulnerable and will talk about their feelings," he said.

"They've just been raised in a way that they're comfortable with women and kind of opening themselves up a little bit which allows America to follow how the guy is feeling."

Pavelka added: "I think probably the guy that has his heart in the right place and is ready to fall in love and really make a go for a fruitful relationship would be Ryan, so I hope it's Ryan. I think I've got the right guy. She let him go, he came back to Fiji and in the end she wound up sending him back home before the final rose."

Pavelka became engaged to Vienna Girardi in the season finale of his Bachelor, although they went through a very public break-up later that year. The former couple will come face-to-face again on the new season of Bachelor Pad, which premieres on Monday night on ABC.

As for whether he would ever return to The Bachelor like Brad Womack did, airline pilot Pavelka told Digital Spy: "I don't know - never say never. I don't know about that. Just to get it out there, they have not asked. If they did, I would turn them down right this minute."

Hebert, who chose JP Rosenbaum in the season finale of The Bachelorette last week, has also backed Park as a good choice for the next Bachelor, saying she'd be happy to watch him or fellow contestants Ames Brown and Ben Flajnik on the show.

However, Park recently told reporters that he was on the fence about whether he'd want to do The Bachelor, saying that although he believed in the show he wasn't sure he would welcome the media "circus" that would surround his life.

"People say there hasn't been that many couples that have stayed together but I point out, 'How about normal dating life?'" he said. "I've dated a few women over my life and it hasn't worked out. I do believe it can work. I do believe Ashley is really in love, so I guess there are two sides and I just don't know if I would right now."

Bachelor Pad returns with a three-hour premiere on Monday, August 8 from 8/7c on ABC.
