The funeral director, who appeared on Brad Womack's second season of The Bachelor, made a surprise appearance in San Francisco once the season had started, hoping to be a late addition in the race for Ben's heart.
However, the winemaker ultimately chose not to give her a rose, influenced by the fury of the other women who reacted badly to the late arrival.
During an appearance on The Bachelor: Women Tell All, Shawntel said it was "hard" to watch the highlights package of her time in San Francisco.
"That was only the second time I've watched it," she told Chris Harrison. "I muted it a lot when I watched it the first time. I talked to Ben for two minutes and then I talked to the ladies for over two hours, and I think the entire time I talked to them I was defending myself.
"Then hearing some of the things said behind my back, not only being a bitch, but about my body image and being uglier in person and my hips being too big. It was really hard."
Shawntel added that she didn't expect to make best friends on The Bachelor but assured the other women she would "never have been as rude" as some of them where: "I was like the little kid in the playground being bullied."

She also agreed with Harrison's suggestion that Ben had no choice but to send her home over fears that if she stayed some of the other women might leave the show in protest.
Elyse kicked off the apologises by telling Shawntel that she knew who she was despite her famous declaration of "Who is she?" when Shawntel arrived in San Francisco.
"I want to be sincere in the fact I really was blindsided," she said. "Here I was sitting with Ben and all of a sudden a girl comes... Now, looking back at it, I do want to apologise. You had a chance just like everyone else. I think I was just bitter in the fact I was nervous about going home; I didn't want to go home."
Rachel said that she felt "a little guilty" about the reception Shawntel had received, although Emily pointed out maybe Shawntel should have come in and told the girls she knew it was a hard situation and explained her position.
As for Erika, who made the comment about Shawntel's thighs being thicker than hers, she said: "I will sit here and apologise all day long. It was rude."
Emily said that Shawntel is "stunning" and anyone who tells her she isn't "drop dead gorgeous" is crazy, adding: "If you weren't stunning we'd be like, 'Give her the rose!'"
Shawntel concluded her segment by telling Chris Harrison that she has no regrets about returning to The Bachelor, and that life in Chico is "good" for her right now.
The Bachelor concludes Monday, March 12 on ABC
