The Bachelor has begun its casting process for the show's next leading man.

The long-running ABC dating series has opened up the audition process for the upcoming 17th season.

Hopefuls can apply for the show by submitting an application form on the show's website, or they can nominate a friend to be considered.

"One lucky man is given the opportunity to find the woman of his dreams in the popular primetime romantic reality series," a Warner Horizon statement read.

"Those who feel they possess the charm, style, class and charisma to become America's next leading man are invited to apply to be on the next season of The Bachelor."

Chris Harrison will return as host of the series, which will be executive produced by Mike Fleiss and Martin Hilton.

The 16th season of The Bachelor concluded last month, with Ben Flajnik proposing to Courtney Robertson in the season finale.

NFL player Tim Tebow was recently approached to star in the next season, according to Harrison.

Harrison recently described the last season as "edgy and controversial".
