Ryan Lochte 'hoping to star on The Bachelor'

By
Ryan Lochte has admitted that he would be interested in starring in The Bachelor.

The Olympic swimmer, who took home five medals from the London Games, told Matt Lauer on Today that his time at the competition had been a "whirlwind".

He also admitted that he'd like to appear on a reality show, following reports that he is fielding a couple of offers.

"We'll see," he said. "We'll see what happens. I'm definitely looking towards Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor, so we'll see what happens."

Meanwhile, The Bachelor's host Chris Harrison tweeted that Lochte is a contender for the show according to producer Mike Fleiss.

"@fleissmeister just told me he liked Ryan Lochte in his speedo so much he's now on short list for #Bachelor," he quipped.

Fleiss is currently in the middle of making a decision about the next Bachelor, with recent Bachelorette candidates Arie Luyendyk Jr and Sean Lowe thought to be in the mix.

"Still trying to figure out who should be the next bachelor," Fleiss tweeted last week. "Not an easy decision..."

On Wednesday (August 8), he wrote: "Looking at edited segments on each guy tomorrow... Decision Time is coming!"

Fleiss also caused Twitter speculation when he tweeted on Friday: "Gonna take a swim," though it is unclear whether this was a reference to Lochte.

Lochte has previously revealed that he would like to appear on Dancing with the Stars, while his teammate Michael Phelps has confessed that he would consider competing in the show.

Elsewhere, Lochte - who has also expressed an interest in acting - was recently forced to deny his mother's claims that he has a lot of one-night stands.
