It was recently confirmed that Womack, 37, will front a second season of the ABC romance reality show after previously choosing nobody in the 11th season finale.
"I sort of was like, 'He gets a second chance?!'" Fedotowsky told ETonline.
"I'm friends with [former Bachelorette] Jillian Harris so I was like, 'Jillian, does that mean you get to go on again?!' We were joking about that but I've met him and he is so sincere about this."
She continued: "I think I'm a good BS detector and know when someone is feeding me lies and he is genuine and really wants to find love. I think he's at that point in his life where he really wants to settle down and I wish him nothing but the best and hope it works out for him."
Fedotowsky - who became engaged to Roberto Martinez on the season finale of her own Bachelorette - previously said that she could sympathise with how Womack must have felt when he decided to choose neither Jenni Croft or DeAnna Pappas on his season because she had a similar experience when the media initially speculated she had also walked away alone in the final episode.
Womack has insisted that he is ready to find love on the new season and has undergone therapy since his first stint on the show to overcome his commitment issues.
The Bachelor returns to ABC in January 2011.
