Bachelorette Ashley Hebert has said that she needed to see Bentley again in order to move on with her other relationships.

The dental student was left heartbroken when Bentley made the shock decision to leave the show in week three, and admitted this week in Thailand that she hadn't got over the former frontrunner.

Bentley had told her that he was going home because he missed his young daughter, but told the camera that he wasn't attracted to Ashley and would have preferred Emily Maynard to be the bachelorette.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday, Ashley was asked if she will ever go out with Bentley again.

"I'll tell you what happens and a tidbit of what is to come," she replied. "He left me with an open door saying 'dot, dot, dot' and I reached a point where I really felt like in order for this to work for me and in order for me to move forward in some of these relationships, I really need to figure this out - and I see him again."

She added: "What happens is not what I expected, so if you don't watch the show you should at least watch that episode."

Ashley also agreed when asked if she had been "naive" about Bentley - who she had been warned about before the show - saying: "Looking back on it now I'm going to have to say that I was a little naive and saw what I wanted to see."

However, she explained that although she had been warned that Bentley might not be around for the "right reasons", it was more of a "keep an eye out" situation rather than a "definitive" warning.

As for recent tabloid rumours that The Bachelorette will end in an engagement this season, Ashley simply laughed: "Don't you wish you knew? I don't want to ruin it for everybody... Where is the credibility in the tabloids?!"

Ashley was also defended by fellow guest Larry David, who joked that he was "going to kill that mo fo" after Leno began talking about Bentley.

"I don't know what this guy did but I really dislike him," said David, before adding that he won't let Ashley see Bentley again.

Host Chris Harrison recently blogged that next week's episode set in Chiang Mai, Thailand will see Ashley at her "lowest point" in the show and "questioning everything even more than she is now".

The Bachelorette airs Mondays at 8/7c on ABC.
