The Oscar-nominated actor was fired from the NBC business competition on Sunday night following a boardroom that saw his Team Backbone colleagues criticising him to Donald Trump. He had served as the project manager for this week's cooking-themed challenge.
"My group were called Backbone - that was our team name - but they turned out to be not a backbone, but backstabbers," he told Jimmy Kimmel Live! during an interview on the ABC show on Monday night.
"They wanted me off that show... I did my work in a very mysterious way which was good and Donald Trump picked up on that," he continued. "They were jealous and afraid and wanted me out of there."
He added: "The finale is on May 22 and I'll go back like a heat seeking missile. Nobody should get in my way unless they mean it!"
Kimmel then joked that Busey should return as a "meat seeking missile", in reference to his clash with Meat Loaf in a recent episode, but the actor replied: "No, not a meat seeking missile. Meat Loaf destroyed himself."
Busey previously thanked his Celebrity Apprentice teammates, who included John Rich and Lil Jon, for their "truthfulness" towards him, saying: "Thank you for being truthful to me. I very much respect your truthfulness and I will live by it and learn from it... No matter what you guys felt about me, it's okay. I learned from it. I grow from it."
The Celebrity Apprentice airs Sundays at 9/8c on NBC.
