Arsenio Hall has been crowned the winner of The Celebrity Apprentice.

The comedian and actor beat his fellow finalist Clay Aiken to take the title and $250,000 for his chosen charity, The Magic Johnson Foundation.

Aubrey O'Day was fired in last week's episode after failing to impress in interviews with former contestants Marlee Matlin and John Rich.

That left Hall and Aiken to battle it out as Donald Trump asked them to stage a celebrity variety show for charity.

"I just want to say, I've never been so torn," Trump told the pair. "This is a very, very tough decision. You are both amazing people, there is no loser tonight."

Trump's daughter Ivanka had said of the pair: "Clay, you were loved by almost everybody, you were strategically refined, assertive... Arsenio, you had a different style, you were a bit more passive as a leader, but highly effective... I think it's a tough choice."

Aiken and Hall performed a rendition of 'Lean on Me' by Bill Withers during the live section of the finale.

Cheryl Tiegs, Victoria Gotti, George Takei, Adam Carolla, Michael Andretti, Tia Carrere, Patricia Velásquez, Debbie Gibson, Dee Snider, Lou Ferrigno, Paul Teutel Sr, Penn Jillette, Dayana Mendoza, Teresa Giudice and Lisa Lampanelli also took part in this season of The Celebrity Apprentice and were fired in the weeks leading up to the finale.

Trump also paid tribute to the celebrity cast in the boardroom at the end of the final task, saying: "You played the game well, you played the game hard, you played the game tough and smart."

The Celebrity Apprentice was recently renewed for another season by NBC.
