Ex-So You Think You Can Dance choreographer Mia Michaels has revealed new details about her upcoming reality series.

Michaels's new choreography show is not yet set up at a network, but the 43-year-old told E! that the overall plan for the programme has been laid out.

"The show is competition but very in-depth of the creative psyche. It's really not just about dance steps. What a lot of people don't realise is that good choreographers do everything: They stage, they direct, they conceptualize, they have their hands on costumes," she said.

Michaels added: "The show is about finding these creative choreographers/directors. There is tons of great talent hiding in the crevices that we never get a chance to see or expose, so I'm gonna drive that boat and find some of those brilliant creators, because dancers are amazing, but what's behind the dancers are the great creators."

The Emmy winner is also working on a documentary about the making of a touring stage show she helped to produce.

Michaels exited So You Think You Can Dance in October.
