'So You Think You Can Dance' names ninth season winners

So You Think You Can Dance has crowned its ninth season champions.

Ballet specialists Chehon Wespi-Tschopp and Eliana Girard were named 'America's Favourite Dancers' during the grand finale of the Fox competition.

Girard put both her hands to her face when her victory in the female dancers' category over jazz dancer Tiffany Maher was announced.

"What just happened?" she shouted as her supporters cheered in the audience.

Cyrus 'Glitch' Spencer, a popping/animation specialist who was runner-up in the men's competition, embraced a tearful Wespi-Tschopp as their result was revealed.

This season marked the first time that two winners of So You Think You Can Dance were announced, as part of multiple changes to the programme's format.

So You Think You Can Dance airs on Fox.
