Englund: 'V remake makes me feel old'

Robert Englund has admitted that the remake of V makes him "feel pretty old".

The actor played an alien named Willie in the original two miniseries and short-lived TV show during the 1980s on which the update is based.

He also starred as Freddy Krueger in the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise, which is currently being rebooted as well.

"My two biggest hits are being remade so there's kind of a perfect storm right now," he told TV Guide.

He added that he is keen to make a cameo on the sci-fi programme and that he liked the "new translation" of the show's villainess, saying: "The alien press secretary - the equivalent of Diana - that's a great concept... I like her look."

Producers of the V remake previously stated that they would consider casting actors from the original.
