Momsen, who plays Jenny Humphrey in the show, told MTV News that she is always impressed that the writers can think of new storylines for the characters.
"Every script is shocking," she said. "You're just like, 'What are they going to do this week?' It's amazing how much stuff they come up with for our characters to do."
The 16-year-old added that fans might be surprised by the next season of the show.
"If you had watched the first episode of season one and [then] watched the last episode we just filmed you'd be like, 'What?'" she explained. 'What is going on? What is happening?'"
However, she described the third instalment of the programme as "a lot of fun".
"A lot of mix-ups this year in the season," Momsen said. "It's cool. Stay tuned, for sure."
