It was recently reported that Taylor Momsen, who plays Jenny Humphrey in the teen drama, will lead a new series set in a girls' boarding school.
The inspiration was said to be the It Girl book series from Gossip Girl writer Cecily von Ziegesar.
However, Schwartz insisted that the CW network currently has no plans to adapt the novels, saying: "Not sure how this [rumour] got out there. The books do have a spinoff, but we have nothing in the works right now other than making sure season two gets off to a great start."
