Clark learns a valuable lesson about showmanship in this week's Smallville, when cocky costumed adventurer Booster Gold (Eric Martsolf) arrives in Metropolis. Booster is determined to replace The Blur as the city's most beloved hero, and also seems keen on replacing Clark in Lois's affections! But Booster isn't the only DC Comics superhero popping up in this instalment, as a teenaged boy named Jaime Reyes (Jaren Brandt Bartlett) becomes fused to a mysterious alien scarab and is transformed into the Blue Beetle! Unable to control his new powers, the Beetle begins to attack Metropolis, but can the combined power of Clark and Booster stop him?
