The cast of Jersey Shore have reportedly secured contracts for the show's fifth season which ensure that they will earn their highest salaries yet.

Cast members including Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi, Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino and Paul 'Pauly D' Delvecchio held out for more money before agreeing to continue with the MTV series, according to TMZ.

The site reports that while the network originally planned to renew the same contracts used for Jersey Shore's fourth season, lawyers for the cast refused negotiations unless the documents were redrawn under new terms.

Jersey Shore producers are said to have left the cast in the dark as to when the show's fifth season would begin filming.

MTV recently revealed that season four will premiere in August.

Snooki, Jenni 'JWoww' Farley, Pauly D and The Situation are all currently working on their own Jersey Shore spinoff series.
