The MTV show, a Jersey Shore spinoff featuring Nicole Polizzi and Jenni Farley, was recently renewed for a second season.
However, the Borough Council at Point Pleasant Beach voted unanimously to refuse the show permission to film there, The Asbury Park Press says.
Councilman William Mayer commented that it was "not what we need at this point", while the town's mayor Vincent Barrella suggested that the council made "a very wise decision".
The show's production company 495 Productions originally revealed in their filming request that the cast would live outside of Point Pleasant, but would be shooting in locations throughout the borough until October.
The request also stated that a crew of around ten people with two or three cameras would follow the stars around.
Filming was also refused in Toms River, which has an ordinance banning production taking place. The town's business administrator Paul Shives explained that the ban came after The Amityville Horror was filmed in Toms River, saying: "The experience from that was not very good."
However, Seaside Heights - the location for the original Jersey Shore - would welcome the spinoff if the production company made a request, said business administrator John Camera.
"As always, we generally welcome anyone shooting in Seaside because it gives us notoriety," he explained.
MTV and 495 Productions have not commented on the reports.
