Published Tuesday, Nov 4 2008, 16:08 GMT | By Simon Reynolds

Day Seven kicks off with a two-night, four-hour event on Sunday, January 11 and Monday, January 12 in the US. The show will celebrate its 150th episode during the fourth hour.
The season was originally due to air in January this year but the 2007-2008 WGA strike resulted in a year-long delay.
For season seven, the story shifts to Washington DC, where Jack Bauer is on trial and CTU has been disbanded.
Making a surprise return is Tony Almeida (Carlos Bernard), who was thought to have died from a lethal injection in Day Five. Jon Voight, Robert Carlyle, Cherry Jones, Tony Todd and Janeane Garofalo are also on the cast.
The new run will be preceded by the two-hour TV movie 24: Redemption, which links together season six and seven. It will air November 23 in the US and November 24 in the UK.
