'24' boss explains new TV movie

The show's executive producer Howard Gordon told IF Magazine: "This will be a standalone movie that takes place almost a year after the sixth season ended, and will set up the story that launches the seventh season. It will be entirely new material."
Jack Bauer was originally due to return to screens in January for an uninterrupted run of episodes, but only eight were filmed before the writers' strike caused the production to temporarily shut down. Fox opted to withhold the episodes until January 2009, to allow time for the remaining 16 to be produced.
The 24 television movie will reportedly be screened in the autumn.
