Final 32 performance: Clay was first to the stage in the second group of eight semi-finalists on February 11. All three judges were impressed with his rendition of "Open Arms", all commenting on the strength of his voice.

Next appearance: It's very likely that Clay will be asked back to perform in the wildcard show on March 4.

Who is Clay's American Idol? "My mother is the strongest person I know."

Why does he want to be the next American Idol? "American celebrities have an amazing amount of influence on the way America thinks, feels and acts. I think that such influences should be used in the most positive way possible."
