Simon Cowell confirmed speculation over the weekend that he might not be involved as a judge on the third season of American Idol on FOX.
Speaking on Good Day Live just days after the finale of the series' second season in America, Cowell remarked: "Why can't I say yes? I'll tell you what -- because I can't. And you know it's not about the money anymore," when asked whether he'd be featuring in the next season.
Despite this, FOX reckons he's interested in returning, with the network's chairman saying last week: "We've had a lot of conversations, and he's very interested in being part of the franchise."
Meanwhile back in Britain, the Sunday People has reported that Cowell is also unsure about being involved in the second series of Pop Idol, which is set to air later this year. The paper cites a source "close" to Cowell, who reportedly remarked: "He's just not sure whether he needs the hassle."
