RCA confirmed today that it has signed a recording contract with American Idol runner-up Clay Aiken.
Aiken, from Raleigh, North Carolina, is releasing the double A-side single Bridge Over Troubled Water and This is the Night on June 10. His full-length debut, which is being executively produced by Clive Davis in consultation with 19 Recordings' Simon Fuller, is due in September.
Ruben Studdard was named winner of the FOX show in May - the prize being a recording contract and, hopefully by dint, stardom.
