'Idol' winner heading back to school

Fantasia Barrino has revealed that she is going back to the classroom to get her high school degree.

The American Idol winner told E! Online that graduating is something that she both needs and wants to do.

"I've been talking about it for so long. I have a lot of young people who look up to me, like my 15-year-old brother and seven-year-old daughter," she said.

"It's something that I really need to do and that I want to do."

Barrino is nominated for a Grammy for her duet 'I'm Only His Woman' with fellow former Idol contestant Jennifer Hudson.

The 24-year-old sang at the funeral of Hudson's mother, brother and seven-year-old nephew following their shootings last year.
