Kris Allen: 'Lambert deserved to win'

In an interview with MTV News, the winner described Lambert as one of the "most gifted performers" he's "ever met".
"I feel like Adam deserved it just as much as I did. He was the most consistent person all year," he said. "I think it could have gone either way and America could not have gotten it wrong."
The champion also said that his first single 'No Boundaries' is "good" but that performing it "acoustically" is better for his style. He also admitted that it was "a little bit weird" to have his first release be one that he wasn't involved in the writing process for.
Allen added that he sees himself making music "exactly" like the songs he performed on the show, specifically mentioning his rendition of 'Ain't No Sunshine'.
"The only thing I really want to do is just be respected in the music industry and my music be respected. Whether that means selling albums, or winning Grammys or just people liking your music, that's all I really want to do," he said.
