The former Spice Girl will star in a "one-off appearance" for the reality show, following judge Paula Abdul's exit from the series.
Beckham said that she would love it if Cowell disagrees with her assessments of contestant's performances, People reports.
"He has a very tongue-in-cheek, British sense of humour, which I have, too," she told host Ryan Seacrest's radio show. "I'm looking forward to a bit of banter. I hope he does give me a little bit of a hard time. I love that. I feed off of that."
The 35-year-old also explained that she did not feel guilty about replacing the 'Opposites Attract' singer on the panel, saying that she will approach her critiques in a similar fashion to the way that Abdul did.
She added: "I want to be nice to people. I know how it feels to stand there and be judged… I don't want to shatter anybody's dream, but at the same time there's nothing wrong with constructive criticism."
Fox studio chairman Peter Rice revealed that the show will use celebrity judges - such as Beckham and Katy Perry - in the interim until a permanent fourth replacement is found.
