'American Idol' return date set

The fourth season of American Idol will premiere Tuesday, January 18 in the States, FOX confirmed today.
The two-hour opener will follow the start of the lengthy auditions process; this year, the audition cities included Cleveland, St. Louis, Washington DC, New Orleans, Orlando, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
Additional audition episodes will air on January 19 (8pm), January 25 (8pm), January 26 (9pm), February 1 (8pm) and February 2 (9pm).
The Hollywood semifinals will play out in episodes airing February 8 (8pm), February 9 (9pm), February 15 (8pm) and February 16 (9pm) before the first performance show of the season on Tuesday, February 22 at 8.30pm.
In the UK, ITV2 will once again broadcast the new season, although whether the channel plans to show the auditions process in its entirety remains to be seen.
