Cowell leaving 'Idol' at end of 2010?

According to E!, the judge's brother Tony confirmed the news on his podcast The Cowell Factor.
"A press statement is being prepared which will confirm what everybody expected: Simon will leave Idol at the end of 2010 to concentrate on bringing the American version of X Factor to US TV in 2011," the sibling said.
Last week, The Times reported that Cowell has had conversations with Fox execs about departing Idol when his contract expires at the end of 2010. It is thought that he will then make way for a 2011 Stateside debut for The X Factor, which, like Idol, would have a permanent home on Fox.
Cowell is yet to comment on reports of his departure.
