Lacey Brown has become the first finalist to be eliminated from the ninth season of American Idol.

The singer was voted off the Fox competition during tonight's live results show, after receiving the lowest number of public votes for her performance on Tuesday night.

She had landed in the bottom three alongside Paige Miles and Tim Urban.

The season's Top 12 had made their debut as a group last night, performing tracks made famous by the Rolling Stones.

The singers who are still in the running are: Didi Benami, Crystal Bowersox, Lee Dewyze, Andrew Garcia, Casey James, Aaron Kelly, Michael Lynche, Siobhan Magnus, Paige Miles, Katie Stevens and Tim Urban.

Tonight's instalment also featured performances from Ke$ha, who sang new track 'Blah Blah Blah', and Orianthi, who performed 'According To You'.
