Abdul to remain as 'American Idol' judge
Published Saturday, Aug 13 2005, 17:11 BST | By Daniel Kilkelly

After launching an independent investigation into claims that the star had an affair with one of the show's contestants, the broadcast network announced that there was "insufficient evidence" to prove that this was so.
"I'm grateful this ordeal is over, and I'm so looking forward to getting back to the job I love," Abdul said in a statement. "Once again, I thank my fans from throughout the world for their undying love and support."
Fox have also revealed that there will be "an enhanced non-fraternisation policy" for the next season, to prevent future incidents which could possibly question the relationships between judges and contestants.
Two lawyers were hired as part of the investigation, but could not substantiate the allegations of Corey Clarke, who claimed that he was involved in a sexual relationship with Abdul.
"Paula Abdul, therefore, can continue as a judge on American Idol," show producers confirmed.
