Ashthon Jones has become the first finalist to be eliminated from the tenth season of American Idol.

The singer - who had been in the bottom three alongside Karen Rodriguez and Haley Reinhart - was eliminated after it was revealed by host Ryan Seacrest that she had received the lowest number of votes following last night's performance.

Jones chose to sing Diana Ross's 'When You Tell Me That You Love Me' - which she did during last night's show - as her final performance. However, J.Lo informed her that the judges would not be using their save vote.

"Not this time baby, I'm sorry," Lopez said. "It was unanimous. You know I was rooting for you and I'm sorry."

The singers who are still in the running are: Lauren Alaina, Casey Abrams, Paul McDonald, Karen Rodriguez, Pia Toscano, James Durbin, Jacob Lusk, Haley Reinhart, Thia Megia, Stefano Langone, Naima Adedapo and Scotty McCreery.

Tonight's episode also featured performances from Diddy Dirty Money with their hit song 'Coming Home' and former American Idol winner Adam Lambert with an unplugged version of his new single 'Aftermath'.

American Idolcontinues next Wednesday on Fox.
