The singer was sent home tonight after falling into the bottom two alongside Lauren Alaina when it was revealed by host Ryan Seacrest that he had received the fewest number of votes following last night's performances. The results were revealed in random order this week, with contestants separating into two groups.
Lusk chose to sing Luther Vandross's 'A House Is Not A Home' as his final song following his exit from the competition.
The singers who are still in the running are Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Haley Reinhart and Scotty McCreery.
The Top 5 joined celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay in the kitchen for an omelette making challenge which was then judged by Ramsay, with Lauren being named the eventual winner. Jacob was also given second prize, and the pair then competed in a blind taste test. Lauren correctly guessed the most foods and was subsequently named the ultimate victor.
Tonight's episode also featured performances from Lady Antebellum with their hit single 'Just A Kiss' and Jennifer Lopez with her song 'On The Floor' featuring Pit Bull.
