American Idol's Pia Toscano has performed her debut single for the first time on the American Idol tour.

Interscope Records announced this week that it had signed season ten finalist Toscano and that her premiere single would be called 'This Time'.

Toscano has now performed the track for the first time on the American Idol summer tour. The song was written and co-produced by Esther Dean, who has previously provided hits for artists including Rihanna.

Toscano described her record deal as a "dream come true" earlier this week, saying: "I am thrilled to be joining the Interscope and 19 Recordings family. [Interscope Geffen A&M Chairman] Jimmy Iovine was an amazing mentor during my time on Idol and I'm looking forward to working with him and everyone at Interscope Records and 19 Recordings."

The singer shot to fame on the tenth season of American Idol, where she was considered a frontrunner until her shock elimination in April, which prompted an outcry among many fans and celebrities.

Toscano can be seen alongside the rest of American Idol's top 11 on the summer tour, which kicked off in Utah this week. Full details and ticket information is available on the official website.

American Idol's season ten top 11 are: Toscano, James Durbin, Haley Reinhart, Jacob Lusk, Casey Abrams, Naima Adedapo, Paul McDonald, Stefano Langone, Thia Megia, runner-up Lauren Alaina, and winner Scotty McCreery.
